Batman and Robinby *RichardCox

Cartoons & Comics / Traditional Media / Comics / Misc

Dick Grayson and Damian Wayne, 11x14 on bristol board. Completed with pitt pens, cool and warm gray copic markers, and white ink.

The most fun I had in doing this Batman was designing the new, pissed off Robin, and basically trying to bring across the personality differences between this new team and Bruce/Tim. As always, I like an off-kilter composition, which I think comes across pretty well here. There is, of course, the homage to old Esquire pinup girls as well.

It's also interesting (for me, at least) to see how the cool and warm grays lead the eyes to see color - Bats in blue, Robin in yellow and red, etc.

I love this! You did a great job in capturing Damian's personality and the way the grey fade into the blue of Batman's costume is fascinating.
